MCC on Full Flight B737NG Simulator at DanFly Aviation
I had the pleasure of joining a MCC course at DanFly Aviation in Skrydstrup. This course was made on a B737 Full Flight Level D simulator in Copenhagen. Already that makes you look twice : Level D, the hours can be logged, and so can the landings!
I must say that the experience surpassed my expectations. Instructor René Clausen is extremely competent, pleasant and good at ”catching” everybody, ”the slowest decides the speed” he said – but finally I must realize that there were no slowest. We were 2 pilots in the cockpit but we worked as a whole.
Even sitting in a simulator on a Full Flight can not be compared with Fix Based. We benefitted even more when we flew pitch moment, and we could really feel, that the left engine was stalled.
The instructor and the school were very flexible regarding planning and last minute changes. All are open and co-operative, almost like a big family, but still very professional. DanFly Aviation will do much to meet your individual requirements but still without loosing the proper perspective.
If you have questions or just want to talk to someone, who has attended a MCC course, please feel free to contact me.

And.......
Many thanks, I should like to say, since I signed for a MCC course in Copenhagen. I was together with Dennis from Billund, and we had got to know each other during the two theory days in Vojens before going to Copenhagen. We had received material and programs for the computer, so that we could play a little with the FMC and look into some of the technical details behind a B737. We have the pleasure of having René Clausen as our instructor, and this indeed this was “a lucky hit”!
The MCC course in Copenhagen is not just ANY course – no, it is a FULL MOTION course. This means that you feel like sitting in the aircraft, and you feel both turbulence, bird strike, and wind shear.
On the first day in the simulator we should study things a little to get an impression of how such a big machine reacts when you “pull the stick”. Prior to each time in the simulator we had one hour theory and were briefed about today’s program. Then we were ready to practice.
During the 5 course days we were exposed to all sorts of things :) This was from slight turbulence to wind shear, to bird strike, and to fire and smoke. Indeed, we must say that we tried everything worth trying! The skills adapted through this course, and the theory gone through, make it much easier to understand flying a B737.
Not only is it a Full Motion simulator but you can also log the hours in your logbook – and they count in your total hours. This is a huge advantage …
